It appears from unpublished work by Searles and Kash175 that this C,H& is probably 3-amino-5-phenylpyrazole (VI), whose structure is also consistent with the reactions observed. Busch and KiispertM obtained 2,6-diphenyl-2,3-dihydro-u~triazine (VII) by treating 4-amino-2,6-diphenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-u~triazine with hydrochloric acid, whereupon there is loss of ammonia (eq. 8). p. 94". It is easily soluble in alcohol, benzene, and ether, is soluble with difficulty in petroleum ether, and was recrystallized from water.
